When you think about compact, fun-to-drive, affordable sports sedans, there are a few names that come readily to mind: vehicles like the Volkswagen Jetta GLI or the Honda Civic Si, or even some of the new Korean offerings like the Kia Forte GT — all of which are really fun to drive. But there’s a name you might not immediately think of as being synonymous with fun, and that’s the Toyota Corolla.

Now, don’t get us wrong: The Corolla is a great transportation appliance for getting from point A to point B in comfort with efficiency and reliability — but in terms of enjoying that drive from A to B, that isn’t always necessarily the Corolla’s strong suit. Well, Toyota would like to change your mind about that, so they offered up the new 2021 Corolla Apex Edition.
Is it sportier than the regular Corolla? Yes, it is. Is it more fun to drive than the regular Corolla? Hmmm … well, not entirely.
