This comes as test centres are experiencing “extremely high demand” for bookings due to a backlog of learners because of the pandemic. The DVSA confirmed that the majority of test centres are fully booked up until early December.
On Twitter, the TV presenter asked her 2.7 million followers for guidance when trying to get a driving test for her daughter.
She tweeted: “Anyone help me with @DVLAgovuk driving tests advice?
“Just trying to book any date. Getting timed out.
“Was on hold on phone for 45 mins then got cut off in a tunnel.
“Currently trying Christmas 2022 and there is nothing. Her theory will have run out? Help! Anyone?”
More than one million driving licence applications have been submitted this year.
The DVLA told the Express.co.uk that there are delays in processing paper applications due to ongoing industrial action and social distancing requirements in Wales.
This means they have fewer staff than usual on site at any one time.

There have also been many people attempting to get driving and theory tests through the DVLA website.
This has prompted many on social media to vent their frustrations.
In response to Davina McCall’s initial tweet, the DVSA responded telling her that it only releases tests 24 weeks in advance, so she wouldn’t be able to book ahead for Christmas 2022.
The tweet continued: “Test demand is high, but we are working really hard to make as many available as possible.
