New Renault Captur leaked, shows Megane-like face

The Renault Captur is six years old now and in need of a replacement, and while the company is still putting the finishing touches on the new one, a photo of the car has been leaked on the internet, showing the next-generation B-segment crossover in all its glory.

The image, a still of a video posted by Instagram user @hoy.jens (which has since been deleted) that was uploaded on the French forum Worldscoop, shows a car that retains much of the outgoing model’s distinctive styling. The curvaceous body sports a contrasting black roof, a distinctly upswept window line and bodyside claddings that reach upwards into the doors before dropping back down again – all Captur design hallmarks.

However, the front end has been completely redesigned, and while it still sports the same Renault grille, the headlights – which look to be full-LED on this unit – feature C-shaped daytime running lights that reach downward into the bumper, a cue lifted from latest Mégane, Koleos and Clio. The triple air intake design is also new, as are the wheels and the front fender appliqués.

The new Captur is expected to be built on the Common Modular Family (CMF-B) platform and utilise the same engines as the new Clio. These include 1.0 litre turbocharged and naturally-aspirated three-cylinder and 1.3 litre turbo four-cylinder petrol engines as well as a 1.5 litre turbodiesel, plus an E-Tech hybrid variant. Also expect a range of new driver assistance systems and a vertical touchscreen.
