Here's Your Best Look Yet at Lamborghini's 830-HP Track-Only SCV12 Hypercar

Lamborghini has been teasing its newest track-only V-12 hypercar, dubbed the SCV12, for months now. We’ve seen blurry shots of it on track, and a video of a prototype on a dyno. Now, we finally get to see the car clearly in the flesh, albeit with some camouflage.

The Italian supercar maker has released a handful of pictures, as well as a video, showing off the new limited-production track car before its official unveiling this summer. It’s also detailed a some specifications that allow it to make more downforce than a GT3 car. A generous splitter, backed by canards on either side, is paired to a massive carbon fiber wing out back. The hood has a dual intake that channels air into the roof scoop, increasing pressure to the manifold for more power.

Under the skin is a carbon fiber monocoque developed specifically for the car, designed for a rear-drive architecture. All 830 horses from that naturally aspirated V-12 are sent to the ground via a lightweight six-speed sequential gearbox, which Lamborghini claims also plays a part as a structural piece within the chassis—similar to a Formula 1 car. The magnesium wheels measure 19 inches up front, and 20 inches in the rear, with all four wrapped in Pirelli racing slicks.

Lamborghini says all SCV12s will be built in the company’s Squadra Corse facility, though it hasn’t confirmed production numbers just yet. We’ll just have to wait a few more months until the full reveal to learn more.
