Over 90% of EVs sold in Q2 of 2023 were equipped with connected features and digital cockpits.
Electric vehicle (EV) sales in India more than doubled in the second quarter of this year. EV sales surged by 120%, while hybrid vehicle sales were up by 400%.
According to a report by CyberMedia Research (CMR), the rise in EV sales was driven by the introduction of new affordable models like the MG Comet EV. It is said that the growth in hybrid vehicle sales was driven by brands like Toyota, Maruti Suzuki and Honda.
With more and more OEMs offering ADAS, the adoption of driver assistance systems expanded by 350% year-on-year. More and more passenger vehicles are now equipped with connected tech and digital cockpits as well.
Over 90% of EVs sold in Q2 of 2023 were equipped with connected features and digital cockpits. For hybrid vehicles, this figure was around 15%.
