Next-gen Toyota Innova caught testing in India

The 2023 Innova might be offered with petrol and petrol-hybrid powertrains, while the diesel unit is likely to be discontinued.

Spy images of the next-generation Toyota Innova first surfaced last month, after it was spotted in Thailand. Now, the MPV has been caught testing in India for the first time.

Unlike the Innova Crysta, the 2023 model (codenamed: 560B) is said to be front-wheel-drive. While the overall shape of the car appears to have been retained, the new model could get a new front fascia featuring LED headlamps. It has a strong shoulder line and a redesigned C-pillar. The alloy wheels seen on this test mule are much larger than those currently offered in India.

Reports suggest that the new Innova might be offered with petrol and petrol-hybrid powertrains, while the diesel unit is likely to be discontinued.

At present, the Innova Crysta comes with two engine options. It includes a 2.7-litre naturally aspirated petrol producing 164 BHP and 245 Nm and a 2.4-litre diesel with 148 BHP and 360 Nm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.
