Mechanically, the updated Sonet will be identical to the outgoing version.
According to a media report, Kia might unveil the Sonet facelift in India next month. It is said that prices could be announced around the same time.
The Sonet made its global debut in August 2020. This will be its first major design overhaul. As part of the update, the compact SUV will receive a revised front fascia with new headlamp clusters and a new set of taillights connected by an LED light bar.
The updated Sonet is expected to get a few interior updates as well. Reports suggest that it could get a new digital instrument cluster and switchgear, among other updates. The car is likely to be equipped with 6-airbags as standard, while top variants could be offered with ADAS.
Mechanically, the updated Sonet will be identical to the outgoing version. It will carry forward the existing 1.2-litre petrol, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT, 6-speed automatic and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
