Volvo ICE to get Android Automotive OS11 & OTA compatibility

Volvo is also set to roll out the latest Android Automotive OS11 in the coming week.

Volvo will be offering Over-The-Air (OTA) software update compatibility across its entire model range. While models like the XC40, XC60, S90, V90 and C40 already have the feature, it is now being extended to all the remaining models as well.

As per reports, Volvo’s entire model range has now been fitted with an updated infotainment system based on the Android OS from Google. The new infotainment system first debuted on the XC40 Recharge in 2019 and was also the first model to be compatible with OTA software updates. However, over the years, this Google-powered infotainment unit has been introduced on all other models across Volvo’s range as part of facelifts and other updates.

Volvo is also set to roll out the latest Android Automotive OS11 in the coming week. The software update will be introduced across 34 international markets, including India, Taiwan and New Zealand. The new update will bring with it new app categories like navigation & charging. Volvo is also expected to introduce video streaming capabilities sometime next year.
