Gallery: Alex Lynn Wraps Up Formula E London Weekend With Win

British drivers swept the Formula E London weekend with Alex Lynn scoring his first career win in Round 13 Sunday. The win came a day after Jake Dennis cruised to victory on the unique 20 turn indoor/outdoor circuit.

“It’s hard for words to be honest,” Lynn said. “It’s as special as it gets. I’ve never felt something like this. Formula E has been a difficult one for me so to win is very special. I’ve got a huge crew behind me that I have to thank. I get the pleasure of driving around their hard work, and I can tell you there isn’t a group of guys and girls that stay longer and wake up earlier than them. I honestly can’t believe this has happened. It’s incredible.”

Lucas di Grassi, who led for more than half the race, was first across the line, but having been black flagged for failing to serve a drive through penalty and was disqualified.

Nyck de Vries, Mitch Evans, Robin Frijns and Pascal Wehrlein rounded out the top five.

Sam Bird, who came into the weekend leading the driver’s standings, again had a miserable outing. After fighting his way from 21st

starting spot to 11th, he tangled with Norman Nato sustaining damage then out him out of the race mirroring his finish from Saturday.

Maximilian Guenther, Nick Cassidy, Sergio Sette Camara Jake Dennis and Joel Eriksson rounded out the top 10 after di Grassi was disqualified after the race.

In the standings, de Vries leaves with the lead 6 points ahead of Frijns in second. Bird falls to third. The final rounds of the season, 14-15 will take place in Berlin on 14-15 August.
